All athletes want to get stronger, bigger, and more athletic, but most have a very hard time of doing so. They may become a little stronger, a little bigger, and a little more athletic, but for the most part, they remain the same. This is because most do not understand how to gain muscle or athleticism beyond a beginning stage.
Gaining muscle is truly one of the easiest things to do in regards to athletic training. I would much rather train an athlete that only wants to get bigger than one that wants to become a much better athlete. This is because training one to get bigger is very easy and very few factors come into play, while on the other hand, training an athlete to become more athletic has to incorporate everything into the programming.
I could easily put a good 25 pounds of solid muscle onto an athlete in about a year if all they wanted to do was gain muscle. But if you are a true athlete, gaining muscle is not your only priority. But I could still pack some muscle on you while you become more athletic. The only thing that would be required is the dedication and drive needed to be able to accomplish your goals.
Now you must actually train if you want to see results. This should go without saying, but there are tons of athletes out there that think all one must do in order to gain muscle is take supplements and watch the weight pile on. While supplements are definitely a great way to “supplement” your training, they cannot do all the work. Honestly, the do very little in actually helping you become more athletic.
Beyond just training, an athlete must also be sure to be eating literally as much food as they possibly can. It takes a ton of calories to gain weight, so if you are serious about getting bigger, then you have to be serious about eating more. I have never seen an athlete gain weight while not eating more calories, it is simply impossible. But I also must warn you to stay away from junk food and what not as that can lead to some bad problems that you do not want later in life.
So now that you have a more refined grasp on gaining muscle, it is vital that you go out and apply it to your training. The learning of how to gain muscle is easy, but it is the application of it that can be channeling, so go prove me wrong.
